Happy First Halloween in RidgeWood West

Oct 31, 2016

There’s no hiding the fact that trick or treating is all about collecting chocolate and candy. For new families in RidgeWood West, this is your first Halloween in the community and heading out to go door to door may be cut a little short, as neighbours may be moving into their new homes or just starting to build.

To help make sure this year’s Halloween is fun and exciting for you and your little ones, here are a couple of ideas and activities you can take part in to keep this Halloween spooktacular:

  • Take a walk or drive to the already established areas in Charleswood and continue your trick or treating there. RidgeWood West is fortunate to be a part of Charleswood, where Halloween excitement is alive and well, giving residents a chance to visit the surrounding area. Go with a group of your neighbours or with close family or friends.
  • If you’re looking to do something else besides trick or treating, Shelmerdines has organized some exciting activities. Kids between the ages of 2 and 10 can spend some time in the Halloween Funzone where they can enjoy a hay maze, bouncy castle, ziplines, face painting and more for the cost of $5! There are also Pumpkin Carving Parties and Magic Shows to experience during October. For a full listing of dates visit their website.

If you do decide to trick or treating in the neighbourhood, we ask that you watch out for construction zones. Our builders take great care of where they are working, but streets may still have some left over debris, rocks or dirt which can pose minor hazards. This can result in unwanted cuts, bumps and bruises if not careful.

Qualico Communities wishes you and your family a safe and Happy Halloween!
