Where to Spend Canada Day

There are no shortage of option to celebrate Canada's 149th birthday this Friday.

For residents of Charleswood, look no further than Assiniboine Park. CanadInn's is hosting their annual Family Fun Day with lots of activities and entertainment on the Lyric Theatre stage starting at 1:00 PM. You can even park and ride from various sites, including Shaftesbury and St. Paul's High Schools if you wish. The day caps off with fireworks at 10:30 PM.

FortWhyte is also hosting a Canada Day event from noon until 3:00 PM. You can celebrate Canada’s history with guided bison hikes and a ride in the Voyageur canoe. the event is free with regular admission to FortWhyte.

Further in the city, you can find Canada Day events at Winnipeg's top destinations. The Forks is of course hosting an all-day party with music under the canopy starting at 12:30 PM and at the Festival Stage starting at 6:00 PM. There are several activities running all afternoon and evening, ending in fireworks at 11:00 PM.

Osborne Village has extended their annual Street Festival into a three-day street party with food courts, patios, street markets and Family Zone. The Street Festival starts Thursday evening at 7:00 PM until 11:00 PM, and runs Friday and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

With no shortage of places to go, food and entertainment to enjoy and fireworks to marvel at, Canada's birthday is sure to be a great day in Winnipeg.
