Spring is Here at FortWhyte Alive!

Apr 21, 2016

Winnipeg has some amazing urban nature parks, and FortWhyte Alive off McCreary Road is one of the city’s most popular. Not just a pristine setting surrounded by beautiful nature trails, FortWhyte Alive also boasts an enticing array of activities for all ages, interests and activity levels.

Now that spring is upon us, you won’t want to miss one of the highlights as FortWhyte Alive celebrates Earth Day on April 24. There will be live music, environmental workshops and outdoor activities for the whole family — with special attention given to lessons in sustainability that honour the environment, our community and the planet. During this celebration from 10am-4pm at 1961 McCreary Road you’ll also have a chance to take a tour of FortWhyte Farms for free throughout the event!

Check Out the Harte Trail

During one of your visits to take in the exciting events at FortWhyte Alive this spring, consider packing some good walking shoes and a water bottle and check out an amazing hike, the Harte Trail. Part of the Trans Canada Trail, the Harte Trail runs through a narrow strip of natural habitat on an old railway bed. It can be accessed by the Thundering Bison Trail from FortWhyte Alive and also connects directly to RidgeWood West, which will be opening to show home visitors this fall.
